Life Insurance You Don't Have to Die to Use!

I am an independent broker who sells for many different companies. I have been selling life insurance for over 14 years.

In my opinion, everyone should have a Will, a Trust, Health Directive, Power of Attorney, Life Insurance for themselves, and Life Insurance for their Children. I would like to see everyone have an emergency account with at least 6 months’ salary in it. Finally, everyone should have a book which lists all of their accounts, documents, safe deposit box, holdings, and final wishes. The good news is that we have someone who can help you with each of these items right in our group!

Follow Up: Protecting Your Wi-Fi Connectivity

Posted by: Ernesto Cervantes

Hello, Fellow SDBG members;

Last week I had the privilege of presenting at our weekly breakfast meeting on the importance of protecting your Wi-Fi connectivity at public venues, such as airports, cafe's, etc. It is my own experience that there are either active hackers or computer bots lurking at or near these places attempting to gain access to your private data, personal credentials and key logs to steal all your private and public identity. Not to mention hard-earned money.

Being proactive to decrease the chances of a breach and make it more difficult for would-be intruders to gain control is neither expensive nor difficult. I am aware that the process of installing and configuring may be something with which you are not totally versed or feel comfortable doing. For this reason, I am making myself available to come to you, whether at home, office or Starbucks (!) and help you configure your laptops, phones, tablets, computers, servers, etc.

At the same time, it would be a great opportunity to take a quick overview of your business networking infrastructure and I can give you a free assessment as to what you have, what you are doing right and what is available to make it even better!

If after the quick presentation you felt that the subject was 'clear as mud' or have questions that were not expressed or properly addressed, please do not hesitate to give me a call.

REMEMBER: A good referral for me is anyone in your business or social circle who can benefit from the services I offer--helping other maximize the use of their equipment through better understanding, knowledge, security and prevention. Any referral that is converted to a client will become a credit to your business for future free tech support! How is that for a Win-Win deal?!

Protecting Your Computer Devices

Ever wonder how we become infected with other people's sickness? A handshake, sharing common items, an airborne bacteria or virus... Ever wonder how your computer or other electronic device becomes infected? The same way, every time we connect to a Wi-Fi signal that is the equivalent to handshake; letting others user our computers, or visiting poorly secured websites, not to mention the active hacker sitting outside your building actively trying to break into your data - all of these are ways that our systems can become compromised and taken over, like an unhealthy immune system.

We meet every Thursday afternoon for lunch at 1:00pm. During the meeting, one or more of our members give a presentation about their business. That's how we learn to best market each others services to our own clients and friends.

Once per quarter we hold a social event in the evening to gather with friends and guests and enjoy conversation, a drink, appetizers and sometimes live music! This social venue affords us the opportunity to grow our relationships and promotes stronger camaraderie in the group.
